The 2020 Olympics will take place in Tokyo, Japan, and Toyota is the official sponsor of the international event, becoming the first car company to be the official Olympic sponsor. As if that isn’t exciting enough, Toyota also reportedly plans to introduce eight new Toyota vehicles before the 2020 Olympics.
Toyota has always been focused on the future and paving the way for automotive innovation since the very beginning. The vision for these new vehicles will follow along those same lines. What will future mobility bring? Perhaps the upcoming Toyota models will give us a glimpse.
What new Toyota models can we expect?
One of the eight future-focused vehicles has already been released in the U.S.–the 2016 Toyota Mirai hydrogen fuel cell sedan. The Mirai is expected to receive a redesign in 2018, and the Toyota Prius hybrid will also get a facelift in time for the 2020 Olympic games. The new Prius is expected to be revealed as soon as the Tokyo Auto Show this October 2015.
