With the recent release of the 2016 Toyota Mirai, we’ve received another amazing innovation in the automotive industry. First, hybrid and electric vehicles set the stage for the future of alternative fuel, and now scientists have figured out how to make vehicles run on hydrogen. But we really want to know… how can the 2016 Toyota Mirai be fueled by lemonade?

Even though the video suggests the new 2016 Mirai can be fueled by lemonade, the disclaimer at the bottom of the screen warns viewers not to pour lemonade directly into the vehicle. Well, then how does it work?
How does it work?
Nowadays, we use several methods to create electricity, such as solar panels and wind turbines. The problem with those means of generating electricity is it cannot be stored for later use. However, electricity can be stored in Hydrogen. Plus, Hydrogen can be found in a wide array of everyday items, including lemonade. When mixed with Oxygen in a Fuel Cell, it then creates energy to fuel the Mirai. Take a look at this video, which helps explain the science behind this idea:
It’s pretty amazing isn’t it? The 2016 Toyota Mirai is currently available at select dealerships in California, but we hope this innovative new Hydrogen-fueled concept will become more widespread in the coming months and years.
